The Awesomeness of My Break
Hey guys, well it has been quite a while since I blogged (almost 3 months). Things have been great the last 3 months. Since the semester ended I have found two freelancing jobs with the Carolinian (Upstate's newspaper) doing photography and design layout. I also made the Dean's List for last semester (2 A's, 2 B+'s, and 1 B) with a 3.6 GPA. I learned some new things about programming computers and different kinds of technologies. I made some new acquaintances and even a few new friends (one of them is a workout partner at the Y too). I really love college life and not just learning new things, but also meeting new people and gaining new experiences. Over Christmas break (yeah, I know...2 months ago), I saw all of my family from out of Spartanburg who live in other states (Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA) and we really made our days. I also got to see my cousin who has been over in London, England (he is an electrical engineer with CHM2HLL-formerly Lockwood-Greene) and he told us about his experiences in Britain through his stories, his picture slideshows on his laptop, and he brought us different Christmas gifts from there such as bags of different kinds of British tea, British chocolates, and he brought his niece a book about everything about Britain (I think he found this at Barnes & Noble actually). I also got to see one of my great friends (you know who you are Jared) who came to Spartanburg from his two-year stint in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a missionary there who is teaching English as a second language to the college students and helping build churches and RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) units at the colleges. He is having a great time hanging out with the students there and he is perfect for that area because of his obsession with the culture. I also got to see other friends (from here and from places such as Clemson) and we all got to hang out over coffee and other random stuff (we saw another friend over New Year's Eve who is staying in I believe Japan whom we got to hang out with in his basement watching the ball drop and having some great taco salads and margaritas). This was a great holiday and I also watched a few movies over this 4-5 week break (I Am Legend with the legendary Will Smith, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium-great G-rated movie, National Treasure 2-not bad, Hit Man-good action and story, and Juno-interesting movie!) and this is all I am going to type for today...consider this blog...to be continued...
